In the history of the organization Oscars 80 times, there are some movies that recorded the most awards won in the same year. Of the three films that managed to get 11 Oscars, Ben-Hur was the first time had the honor of breaking this record in 1960.
At the Oscar party held on 4 April 1960 that the film director William Wyler was successfully captured all of the most prestigious category that year, At least among the 11 who carried off a trophy award for the category of Best Film, Best direction, Best Main Actor, Best Supporting Actor role, Of the 12 nominations received, only nomination for Best Adapted Script have failed to take home. This is not the first time a film adapted from the novel by Lew Wallace, entitled Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. Previously there were two films that take a similar story although not successfully achieve success like this one. This film tells about the life of Judah Ben-Hur (Charlton Heston) in the early 1st century. Ben-Hur was a prince of a wealthy Jew. At one point, Ben-Hur heard the news that his childhood friend named Messala (Stephen Boyd) became commander of the garrison in Jerusalem, where Ben-Hur lives.
Unfortunately a long farewell Messala has transformed into a ruthless and cruel. In a short time even this friendship turned into hostility and Ben-Hur and his family should be languishing in the jail of the Roman army.
